中山七里 「ドクターデスの遺産」
中山さんの作品に戻ってきました。今回は重そうな雰囲気のものにしてみました。
「父親が悪い医者に殺された」とその子供から通報が入る。火葬前の遺体を回収して調べたところ、薬物を投与された形跡が見つかる。
母親を聴取したところ、裏サイトから医者に依頼して安楽死させたことが判明する。その医者は「ドクターデス」と名乗り強い意志と共に安楽死を何件も請け負っていた。刑事としての信念ではドクターデスを認められないが、世間の目ではドクターデスを支持する声も多くみられた。ドクターデスの正体を探るというお話。
安楽死をテーマにしたミステリー。医療の話はミステリーに絡んでこないので医療ミステリーではない。
病気で苦しむ人を死で楽にするのは救いなのか？について書かれているので雰囲気は重いです。
違法行為のはずなのに関係者はみな幸せになっていて、世間からは称賛されている犯人を逮捕するのは正しいのか？と葛藤している主人公はなかなかにリアルです。
ミステリー部分については推理の余地はそんなに多くないという印象です。ただ最後の方に面白い展開があるのでミステリーとしてもちゃんと楽しめます。
安楽死については賛成です。本人が自分の意志で決めたことは尊重し、称えたいという考えです。
もし日本で安楽死を正式に行うなら医者とは別の専門家を養成しないと運営できないでしょう。
日本人は死んだ命を大事にしすぎる気質なので死に対しての相当な訓練を積まないと安楽死に関わる仕事は長続きしないと思います。
あるいは膨大な報酬を用意してお金のために行う汚れ仕事、にしてしまうかです。
どちらにしても実現には莫大な資金が必要になるのであと数十年は出てこないと私は思っています。
安楽死とは別のことになりますが、死ぬ前と後で扱いに落差がありすぎだと常々思っています。
前に電通の過労死問題がありましたが、生きている命はゴミのように扱うのに死んだ途端に命の尊さを説き始めるのは一貫性がなくて気に入りません。命をネタにしてバッシングするのは手軽かつ強力なので、掌返すタイミング間違うと猛攻撃されるから怖いというのが一番の理由でしょう。そんな程度にビビるくらいなら最初から命奪う可能性のある攻撃をしなければ良い。人を攻撃する行為はそんな生ぬるい覚悟ですることではありません。
「失ってから大事さに気づく」なんてフレーズはもう何十年も前から言い続けられているのですから、いい加減行動に反映しましょうと私は思います。尊い命失ってお涙頂戴な映画を見て満足してる場合じゃないです。
中山さんの作品はいいものが揃っていますね。読むものなくなった時の戻り先にします。
Shichiri Nakayama "The legacy of Dr. Death"
I also read Nakayama's novel again. I read a heavy one.
The child reported to police "My father was killed by a bad doctor". He examined the remains, he found a trace of medication from the body. He listened to his mother, and it turned out that she asked the doctor from the behind-site and euthanized him. The doctor called "Dr. Death" undertaken several euthanasia with a strong will. He cannot accept Dr. Death as a detective, but
there were also many voices supporting Dr. Death in public.
The story of exploring the identity of Doctor Death.
This is a mystery with the theme of euthanasia.
She writes "Is it a salvation to make people suffering from illness easier with death?". Dr. Death is admired from the world, everyone concerned is happy though it should be illegal in this novel. So, the hero is suffering
whether it is right to arrest the perpetrator. It is very real.
There is not much room for reasoning about the mystery part. Just enjoy it as a mystery as there is an interesting development in the last scene.
I am in favor of euthanasia. I respect and appreciate what my principal decided on my own will.
If we do euthanasia officially in Japan, we cannot operate it with a doctor. We need to train other experts.
The Japanese takes care of the dead life too much, so I think a work related to euthanasia will not last long without considerable training.
Or We prepare a huge reward for it, and we make it perceived as dirty work done for money.
Either way, enormous funds are needed for realization. I think it will not be realized for decades in Japan.
I am always thinking that there is too much difference of treatment between before and after dying.
There was a problem of death from overwork of Dentsu. People treat living life like junk, but they start to preach the preciousness of life as soon as it dies. I detest this inconsistency. It is easy and powerful that we bash one about life, so they are afraid of being assassinated because they made a mistake on the timing of reversing one's stance. I think that you do not have to attack if you are afraid of that trivial thing.
"Notice the importance since losing it" has been said for decades, let's reflect it in action.
Nakayama's novels are good. I will be back her novel.
