佐藤青南 「ビジュアル・クリフ」
行動心理捜査官シリーズの新刊が出ていました。
不当な高額で健康器具を売りつける悪徳販売店の店主が殺害された。金を巻き上げられた被害者が多いため犯人が絞れずにいたが、指名手配中の人物が現場周辺で目撃されていた。あまりの都合のよさに違和感を覚えた主人公が顧客リストを見ていると、かつて行動心理学を師事した恩師の名前を発見する。
事件に何らかの関与があると踏んでいるが、恩師が相手では苦戦を強いられるというお話。
前に読んだのは短編集でしたがこれは長編物です。
いつも通り行動心理学に関する知識が出てきており、今回は過去の記憶に関する心理学が多く紹介されています。
ミステリーの方は動機探しがかなり難しい。この小説は心理学がウリ、という点をよく考えないと当てるのは厳しいです。
犯人は登場人物がそもそも少ないのですぐに分かるはず。
この作品は行動心理学で相手の心理を読んでいくところが見所なんですが、序盤で恩師から「人の本心が読めても不幸にしかならない」と言われてしまいます。私が以前読んだ「嘘の見抜き方」という元警察官が書いている本でも「仕事で必要じゃない限り嘘は勘づくだけでよくて、真実を暴こうとしてはいけない」と書いていました。実際、世の中の人が全員本音で話してたら大半の人間関係は崩壊するでしょうね。自分に都合の良い嘘を付いてくれる人と親しくなる、でちょうどいいんだと思います。
私は日頃から嘘は極力つかないようにしているのですが、本音言うとマズい場面では黙ってやり過ごすようにしています。
本書曰く、過去の記憶は改ざんできる。覚えおくのが辛すぎる記憶を別のものに置き換えて脳に記憶する、というのは誰にでも備わっている防衛手段なんだそうです。例えば、父親に虐待された過去があったとして、近所のおじさんが親しくしてくれていたら、そのおじさんのしてくれたことをまるで父親がしてくれたかのように記憶が置き換わって虐待はなかったと記憶されるとのこと。その置き換えはありえないでしょう・・・と私も思ったのですが実際こういったケースは多く報告されているらしいです。
本書の内容から外れますが、前から疑問視しているポピュラーな心理があります。「秘密を話すことで距離が近くなって親密になる」という心理です。
これは「親しくなった証拠の一つが秘密を打ち明けてくれること」であって「親しくなる手段として秘密を話す」ではないですよね。今はSNSとかで秘密をローカルなネットワークに撒くことができますが、ほんとにそれで親しくなってるのかいつも疑問に思っています。そんなすぐにばらまける安物は秘密じゃなくてただの構ってネタでしょ、というのが私の意見です。
短編集よりも今回の長編の方が好みでした。このシリーズ制覇してみようかな。

Shopkeeper of an unscrupulous dealer who sells health equipment at an unreasonably high price was murdered.
They could not find the criminal because there are many victims who were robbed of money. But a person who was wanted was being witnessed around the site. The main character was feeling strange and uncomfortable. When she is looking at the customer list, she discovers the name of a teacher who studied behavioral psychology once.
She thought that there is some involvement in the incident, her teacher was forced to struggle with the opponent.
I had read short before was a short edition, but this is a long story.
Knowledge on behavioral psychology is emerging as usual, and A lot of psychology about past memories is introduced this time.
This is pretty difficult to find a motive. This novel is difficult to find a motive unless psychology thinks about the theme. The criminal should know immediately as few characters are in the first place.
This book is attractive where she can see the psychology of your opponent, but it is said from her teacher, "If you can read the person's true heart it will only be unhappy". Indeed, if all the people in the world speak in real intention, most human relations will collapse. I think that it is just right to become familiar with someone who attaches a good lie to himself.
I try not to tell lies as much as I can, but when I say real thing, I try to silence and overtake it in a masculine scene.
In this book, past memories can be tampered with. 「To memorize in the brain replacing the memory that is too hard to memorize to another one」 is a defensive measures that everyone has. For example, as the father had abused past, if your neighbor in the neighbor took good care of you, it is remembered that memory was replaced as if your father did what the neighbor did and abuse was not done. I thought that replacement would not be possible, in fact it seems that many cases like this have been reported.
Although it is out of the contents of this book, there is a popular psychology which doubts from before.
It is a psychology that "When you tell secrets, distance comes close and you become intimate".
This is "that one of the proofs that I became acquainted with will reveal a secret" and not "to tell a secret as a means to become friendly" is not it. Now We can distribute secrets to local networks with SNS etc. I'm always wondering if I really get acquainted with it. It is my opinion that it is not a secret but just a joke.
I prefer this length feature rather than short editing.
