柳 広司 「ジョーカー・ゲーム」
読んだことのない作家さん。題材が面白そうだったので読んでみました。
舞台は一昔前の時代。「D機関」というスパイ養成学校が設立されていた。
そこを卒業した生徒が各国で敵国スパイを暴いたり、自殺に見える事件の真相を暴いたりとスパイとして任務を遂行するというお話です。
スパイを題材としたミステリー短編集となっています。
全250ページほどで一つの話が60ページくらいです。一つ一つのミステリーは軽めに作られていますので、サクッと読めます。
その割にはちゃんとしたミステリーになっていて満足感があります。
またスパイに関するあれこれが書かれており、私はそっちを読んで楽しんでいました。本書に書いてあることが今のスパイたちと一致していたら本業の人たち困っちゃうのでたぶん違うとは思っています。
本書によるとスパイで一番重要なことは目立たないこと、疑われないことだそうです。
ですので映画などに出てくる「絶世の美女スパイ」はまずあり得ない。歩いているだけで目を引くような人間はスパイ適正がなく、そもそも女性スパイ自体がほぼいなかったとのとこ。女性というだけで男性の目を引くからですかね。
またよくある「偉い人を女スパイが誘惑して情報を引き出す」というのもあり得ないそうです。漏れたらまずい情報を持っている立場の人間はそういったものに耐える訓練をしているので、仮にそういう逸話があっても偉い人は誤情報かどうでもいい情報を掴ませて利用しているだけだそうです。
女スパイに対して夢も希望もないですが、考えてみたらその通りだ。ルパンの峰子もよく捕まっていた気がします。
少し変わったミステリー短編集でなかなか楽しめました。
この作品はシリーズものとして続いているのでまた読んでみます。

I had never read his novel. I tried reading because the subject seemed interesting.
A few years ago, A spy training school was established, named "D organ".
This story is that students who graduated there will perform their duties in each country.

This is a collection of mystery short stories based on spies. This is about 250 pages and contains about 60 pages of one story. Each mystery is made lightly, so it is easy to read. But I am satisfied with being a proper mystery.
And he writes about spies, I enjoyed it. I think that realities of spies written in this isn't perfect match. If that was the case, real spies got unemployed.
In this novel, the most important thing in spies is that it is inconspicuous, that it is not suspected.
So "incredibly beautiful woman spy" coming out in movies etc, is unreal. A person being eye-catching just walking is inappropriate for spy, ever there is almost no female spy. I think that any woman will be caught by a man.
And it is also unreal that a woman spy seduces a person in a high position and draws the information.
A person who has a dangerous information if leaked was trained for it. Even though there is such anecdote, he just gives misinformation or worthless information to her, and uses her.
We have neither hopes nor dreams for woman spy, but that's right.
It was quite enjoyable with a little strange mystery short story collection.
This novel is a series, so I will read the rest.
