村上春樹 「ダンスダンスダンス」
羊をめぐる冒険の内容を忘れないうちに読んでおきました。
「羊をめぐる冒険」から4年、主人公は友人たちを失って無気力な生活を送っていた。今の状態から抜け出すためにキキに会うべくすべての始まりである「いるかホテル」へと向かうが、そこには「ドルフィンホテル」という大手のホテルが建っていた。なぜいるかホテルの名を継ぐようなホテルが立っているのか不思議に思いつつ宿泊していると、羊男が姿を現す。彼曰く「失ったものを取り戻すために踊り続けろ」とのこと。
主人公は無くしてしまった大事なものを取り戻せるか？というお話。
「羊をめぐる冒険」の完全な続きなのでまず先に読みましょう。読まないと重要人物と主人公の関係が分からなくて楽しめません。
前作に比べるとメルヘン要素が多いです。特に下巻の中盤あたりから。いつもの村上春樹が出てきたという感じですが、まだまだ私の想像力不足で何を表しているかちゃんと理解できた自信はありません。
上下巻で800ページほどの内容ですがその割に登場人物が少ないです。その代わり物語で重要な人物それぞれに個性があります。「このキャラは自分に近い or 理解できる」を見つけられるかどうかでこの作品が楽しめるかが決まります。もし見つからないと登場人物たちが全員何言っているか分からなくて「村上春樹作品は意味が分からない」という状態になっていたと思う。
この作品のなかで私に近いと思えたのは中盤から出てくる片腕の男性です。
この男性のことを主人公は「品の良いゴミ箱」と表現していました。人としては尊敬されるくらい出来ているのに、周囲から雑に扱われ暴言などの対象とされてしまうことを表しています。
この男性のように暴言や粗暴な扱いをされることが今までの私の人生で何度もあり、たぶんですが今も継続しています。私は良くも悪くも注目を浴びない人間であり、周囲に嫌われているわけでもないのに攻撃対象にされることを表現するのに「品の良いゴミ箱」はしっくりきました。自身を表す良い表現に出会えたので、これだけで本作を読んだ価値が大いにあります。
個人的にはとても気に入った作品となりました。本作単体では読めないので、気になる方は「羊をめぐる冒険」から読みましょう。

I read it before forgetting the content of "adventure over sheep"
Four years after "adventure over sheep", the hero had lost friends and lived a lethargic life. To get out of the current state, he went to "Iruka Hotel" to meet Kiki. But there was a major hotel called "Dolphin Hotel". Why is there a hotel that take over the name of the hotel (Japanese "Iruka" mean "Dolphin")? As he stayed in a wonderful way, a sheep man appeared. He said that "continue dancing to regain what you have lost". Can the hero regain the important things he lost?
Let's read "Adventure over sheep" first. If you do not read it, you cannot enjoy it because you do not know the relationship between the important character and the hero.
There are many fairy tale elements compared with the previous novel, especially from around the middle of the second volume. As usual Mr. Haruki Murakami draws the world view, I do not have confidence that I can understand exactly what I am expressing with my imagination shortage.
Although contents of about 800 pages in two volume, there are few characters in that content.
Instead, each important person in a story has personality. Whether you can enjoy this work depends on whether you find "this character is close to you or understandable".
If I cannot find it, I do not know what all the characters are saying, and I think that "Murakami Haruki's work does not make sense".
The man who seemed to be close to me in this work is a man with one arm. The main character expressed this male as "noble trash bin".
Although it is respectable as a person, it means that it is treated as miscellaneous from the surroundings and subject to abuse etc. As in this man, it has been repeated many times in my life until now to be treated as abusive or rough, but perhaps it is still going on.
I am a human being who is not paying attention as good or bad. So, this is perfect for expressing what is being targeted for attack though it is not hated around.
As I met a good expression to express myself, there is much value worth reading this novel alone.
Personally, it became a favorite work. Since you cannot read with this work alone, those who are worried should read from "Adventure over sheep".
