中山七里 セイレーンの懺悔
読む本が特に思いつかないと中山さんの作品に戻ってきます。
主人公はテレビ局の若手女性レポーター。他局に先駆けたスクープを狙っていると殺害された後に顔を焼かれた女子高生が発見される。先輩とともに取材をしていると彼女はいじめを受けており、いじめグループのメンバーが犯行を隠そうと密談をする現場をスクープする。この放送によってメンバーの一人が過去を暴露されて自殺未遂を起こして話題となるが、警察からまったくの別グループを容疑者として逮捕したことで誤報と判明する。自身の勇み足のせいで人を傷つけたことに苦悩する、というお話。
ミステリーだと思って読んでいましたが、メインは社会問題系の話題でした。
学校でのいじめ問題、プライバシーを暴露するメディア、家庭環境の崩壊などいくかの題材の問題について書かれています。
ミステリーの部分はこれらの題材を出すために用意されているだけなので、推理せずに読んで楽しむだけでOKです。
ミステリー部分が希薄になっているせいで作品そのもののインパクトが薄くなっているのが少し残念です。
タイトルの「セイレーン」はマスメディアのことを指しています。彼らが流した情報を盲信して行動する人が一定数いるため、情報を使って間違った方向に誘導することができる、という意味で作中では使われていました。
マスメディアが謝罪をしないのは権利や地位を失ってはいけないから、と本書で書いていました。
その代わり謝罪によって相手に許してもらうことが出来ないので、一生恨まれながら生きなければならないとのこと。
最近では警察や学校教師がまともな謝罪や改善をしないことが報道されていますが、裏にはこんな理由が隠れていたようです。字面だけはとても立派な覚悟がみえるのですが、これらに携わる人々が実際こんな高尚な志を持っているとは到底思えないのが残念です。普通の会社でありがちな「安っぽいプライドで謝ったら負けだと思い込んでる」と同じレベルに見えるので高尚な理由持ってる人たちはもっとアピールした方が良さそうですね。
今回は軽めの作品でした。中山さんの作品気になる、という人の導入などに良いかもしれません。
Shichiri Nakayama "The Confussion of the Sirens"
The hero is a young female reporter of a television station. When she was aiming for a scoop ahead of other stations, high school girl who had been burned face after being killed are found. As a result of interviewing with her senior, the high school girl turned out to be bullied. And she scoops the scene where members of the bullying group talk to tell the secret to hide the crime. One member of this member exposes the past by this broadcast and causes attempted suicide attempts, but the police arrested a completely different group as a suspect and it turns out to be a false alarm. She suffers from having hurt people because I got obsessed with achieving results.
I thought that it was a mystery and I was reading, but the main was a social problem.
School bullying problems, media revealing privacy, collapse of home environment, she writes about these problems.
The mystery part is only prepared for these subjects, so just read and enjoy without reasoning.
It is a pity that the impact of the work itself is becoming thin due to the thin mystery part.
"Siren" refers to mass media. Because there are a certain number of people acting blindly to the information they have flown, it was used in the meaning that it can be guided in the wrong direction by using information.
Mass media did not apologize because we must not lose rights or status, written in this.
Instead, they cannot be forgiven by your opponent by apology, so you must live with a grudge for the rest of their life.
Recently it has been reported that police and school teachers do not make a decent apology or improvement, such a reason seems to be hiding behind.
Only the letter side looks so amazingly resolute, it is regrettable that people involved in such activities do not have such a high-level ambition indeed.
It looks like the same level as the "Cheap pride that apology is defeat" that tends to be an ordinary company,
People who have high-ranking reasons should better appeal.
This is a light novel this time. It might be good for the introduction of people saying that Nakayama's novel is interesting.
