中山七里 「切り裂きジャックの告白」
犬養シリーズの最初の巻です。後ろを先に読んでしまったので改めて最初から読もうと思い立ちました。
開腹されて臓器をすべて抜き取られている女性の遺体が発見される。臓器を抜き取る手際から医療関係者が犯人と目されて操作が始まる。その後メディアに犯行声明文が送りつけられ「平成の切り裂きジャック」と報じられるようになる。2番目の遺体が発見されるも二人には何も接点がないかに見えたが、二人とも同じドナーの臓器移植を受けていることが判明する。ジャックの目的は何なのか？という話。
一作目だからでしょうか、シリーズの中で一番面白かった。終盤までに一転二転あるので間延びものなく楽しめます。
ミステリーとしても質が高いですが、テーマになっている「臓器移植」についての考え方が多くの面から紹介されていてためになります。それ以外にも他人からの善意についてなど様々な部分に触れていて考えさせられるところが多い作品でした。
ただ、後の作品を読んでいたせいか序盤で犯人に当たりがついてしまった。後ろを読んでしまった方は内容忘れるまで本書は保留しましょう。
本書の中で臓器移植について議論する場面がありました。反対派の意見として「臓器移植は人肉を食して生き延びるのとおなじ」という面白い言い方が出てきます。
例えとしてこれは的を射ていると思いますが、それのどこが問題なんだ？と私は思います。例えに沿っていうなら人肉食べてでも生き残りたい、という覚悟の上でやっているのですから本人の意志さえあれば何も問題に感じません。
これに加えて「財力によって助かる命とそうでない命があってはならない」という意見もありました。これも別に問題ないのでは？と思います。お金はその人の生きている価値を決めてしまうくらいのパワーがあります。
臓器移植をする正当な対価は払っている以上、命一つくらい助かってくれないとむしろ困ります。
もうひとつ、本書で気になる場面がありました。
募金によって臓器移植を受けた男性がパチンコ通いなどで自堕落な生活をしていることが報じられてバッシング受け、「健康になったのに人の善意がつらい」と吐露しているシーン。
これは人の善意を受けることを決めた時点で覚悟しないといけないことなので、自業自得ですね。嫌なら善意を拒否すればいいだけの話です。特にこのシーンのようなお金の絡む善意は絶対受けてはいけない、というのが私の意見です。この種でなくとも相手が何を期待しているのか読み取ってリアクションしないと、すぐに裏切り者にされてしまいます。私はこれを考えるのが面倒なので、他人からの善意は極力求めないようにしています。
まだ犬養シリーズ読んでなくて気になっている方は本書から読むのをおススメします。
Shichiri Nakayama "Confession of Jack the Ripper"
It is the first volume of the "Inukai series". I read this from the beginning as I had read the second volume first.
The body of a woman whose all organs are pulled out is found. Investigation begins when medical personnel are estimated as a criminal from the skill of extracting organs. Then a crime statement sent to the media, he will be reported as "Heisei's Ripper Jack". The second body is found, but it seemed that there was not any contact between the two. And it turns out that they both receive an organ transplant of the same donor. What is the purpose of Jack?
This is the most interesting in the series. Since there are some turns by the end of the game, I could enjoy it without spending time. High quality as a mystery, and the way of thinking about "organ transplant" has been introduced from many aspects and I studied it. Besides that, it was a novel that touched various parts, such as about good faith from others, and there are many places that can be thought of. However, since the later novel was being read, the criminal was able to predict at the beginning.
There was a scene to discuss organ transplant in this. As opponents' opinion "Organ transplant is the same as survival by eating human meat". It is interesting.
As an example, I think that this expression is correct, but is there a problem? According to the example, they decide "I want to survive even eating human meat" with a strong will. So, I do not feel anything wrong with this.
There was also an opinion that "There is no life that can be saved by financial strength and a life not so much". Is this also a problem? I think. Money has enough power to decide that person's living value. Rather than paying legitimate consideration for organ transplantation, it would rather be a problem if you do not care about one life or more.
Another scene was worrisome in this.
There was a man who received an organ transplant by donation, and It is reported that a man loses his life as he goes to gambling and is bashing. and he said, "People's good intentions are painful despite becoming healthy".
This is well-earned punishment. If you do not want to refuse good intentions only. I think that you should not absolutely receive the good intent involving money, especially like this scene. Even if you are not of this kind, if you do not read what you anticipate and react, you will soon be a traitor. I am troubling to think about this, so I try not to ask for good intentions from others as much as possible.
