中山七里 「さよならドビュッシー」
前に紹介した「連続殺人鬼 カエル男」と同時期の作品です。
主人公はピアニストを志す16歳の少女。従妹と共にピアノ教室に通っていたが、ある日家が火事になり祖父と従妹が亡くなる。
かろうじて生き残ったものの全身に大火傷を負う。最先端の医術で皮膚の移植をしたことで火傷は隠れたが、移植した皮膚のせいで指が以前のように動かせなくなってしまう。かつて出会ったピアノ講師と共にリハビリとしてピアノを弾くことになったが、一方で祖父の遺産が絡んだ不穏な出来事が次々と発生する、というお話。
これも評判通りの面白さでしたが、「連続殺人鬼 カエル男」とはだいぶ毛色の違う作品でした。
こっちはミステリーよりも主人公の心情と演奏の壮大さを伝えることに重点が置かれています。
全身にやけどを負って歩行困難になったことで体に障害を持つとどういう目で周囲から見られ、扱われるのかが上手く描かれています。「障害者を労わってあげてるんだから」を盾にして攻撃してくる様は実に醜くく描かれていてこれまた上手い。
音楽の方については私が音楽に疎いので完全には読み取りきれなかったと思っていますが、それでも演奏の迫力と臨場感が伝わってきます。
ミステリー要素は全体で見ると比率低いですが、終盤に良い仕掛けがあります。そんな予感はしてました、「このミス」大賞ですからこれがないとという感じです。
本作の中で常に出てきたのは「自分がどうしたいのかを考えなさい」という点でした。周囲からどう見られるか？どう言われるか？を気にして行動に出られないのは「逃げ」とのこと。「逃げ」は悪いことではないと私は考えています。目の前にある物事が周囲からの評価よりも重要でなかったら「逃げ」を取らない方が優先度から見ても変です。つまりは「人に言われたから」を盾にして逃げることに納得出来るかどうかだと思います。納得の基準は人それぞれなのでどちらが良い悪いと言うつもりはないです。そういう逃げ方はポリシーに反するので私はやらないですね。
映画があるそうですが、良い評判という話を聞いたことがない。音楽がテーマなので音と映像は映画の方が伝わるような気はしています。
クラシックが好きな方はぜひ読んでみてほしいです。そうでない人でも十二分に楽しめます。

This is a novel of the same time as "Serial killer Flog man"
There is a 16-year-old girl who was aiming for a pianist. She went to the piano lesson with a cousin. One day a fire occurred, her grandfather and her cousin was died. She survived, but she suffers to be burned whole her body. By state-of-the-art Skin grafting she can hide the burned scar, but can't flex her hingers well. She rehabilitates by playing the piano with new teacher. And disturbing cases occur one after another.
This is also a fun as stated, but is a different kind of novel from "Serial killer Flog man".
He emphasizes to write her emotion and grandeur of piano performance. He writes well that she notices how people feel and treat her, from becoming a person with disabilities by burned scar. It is an ugly that people attack her with pleading "We want to comfort her".
I couldn't understand description of music fully because I'm not familiar with music. But I feel the power of playing and presence.
He writes "You think what will you do" as a main theme. In this novel, if you couldn't do anything because of your minding how people feel and appraise, it was an escape. I think that an escape is not wrongness. If the thing was littler than assessment of people, it was assumed to select an escape. In all of that, we can accept to escape because of minding how people feel and appraise. I don't refer that it is good or not, because every person is different. But It go against my creed that I escape because of it.
There is a film based on this, but It has an iffy reputation. I think a film is easier than a novel to express sounds and image.
I recommend a person who know much music to read this. Even if it does not, this novel is enough fun.
