深木章子 「敗者の告白」
新年一冊目は初めて読む作家さんからスタート。タイトルがかっこよくて買いました。
女性とその息子が山荘のベランダから転落死した。容疑者として夫が提訴され無罪を主張しているが妻の手記が発見され、自分の財産を目当てに夫が愛人と共謀して息子共々殺害する計画をしていると記されていた。一方で息子は祖母にメールを書いており、そこには両親が自分を殺害しようとしていることと自分が妹を殺害したことを告白していた。
当事者同士で主張が食い違う中で親しい間柄であった人たちへの聴取がはじまる。
嘘をついているのは誰で、真相は何なのかを探るというお話。
話全体が証言だけで構成されている珍しい作品です。
陥れるために嘘をついているのは誰か？という話なので雰囲気が東野圭吾の「悪意」と近い。
心情を吐露する場面が多く、その心理描写の書き方がとてもうまい。
妻と関係のあった男性が数人登場するのですが、不倫として露呈するのを恐れる様は何とも往生際が悪くて情けない。
ミステリーとして見ると推理するのがかなり難しい。
告白だけで物証がないため、「この性格をした人がこの行動をとるのはおかしい」という推理が必要になります。
また読み終えるとタイトルの意味が分かるようになっています。カッコいいだけでなくちゃんと意味のあるタイトルでした。
本作のテーマは「人生の勝敗は何で決めるか」と読み取れました。
富、権力、異性関係など人としての価値をきめる尺度は様々あります。
私は「終わり良ければ総て良し」なので死ぬ瞬間に幸せなら他は何でもいいです。
そのためには自分の信念に反することをしない、が完遂されていれば大丈夫。
他のところは生きられる程度にあれば十分です。
新年早々に良い作家に出会えたのは幸先がいい。

Miki Akiko "Confession of A Loser"
This is my New Year's first book. Because the title is cool, I bought it.
The woman and her son fell from the veranda of the mountain village. Her husband was sued as a suspect and insisted on innocence. But her note was found, and she wrote that he and his lover conspired to kill her and her son for her property.
On the other hand, her son wrote an email to his grandmother. He wrote that his parents were planning to kill him, and he killed his sister.
Claims disagree between the parties. They started to listen to people who had a close relationship with that family.
Who is lying? This story is to explore what the truth is.
The whole story consists only of testimony. It is an unusual.
This story is "Who is lying to get in?". So, the atmosphere is close to Keigo Higashino's "The Animosity".
There are many scenes of expressing emotions, how to write that psychological description is very good.
Men who had an affair with a dead woman appears. It is miserable like fearing to reveal as an affair.
As a mystery it is quite difficult to presume.
There is no evidence and are only confessions. So, we have to read a behavior from personality.
And after reading, you can see the meaning of the title. It is not only cool but also meaningful title.
This novel's argument is "What is a factor to decide victory or defeat in life?".
An affluence, an authority, relations with the opposite sex, etc., there are various scales to decide a human value.
I think "All is well that ends well", so everything is OK if I will be happy at the moment of death.
It is all OK if I didn't go against my beliefs. It is enough if the other parts are enough to live.
It is auspicious to have met a good writer at New Year early.
